Upcoming Album & Single Releases

Discussion in 'General Music Discussion' started by Kurt, Mar 13, 2012.

This thread will be updated with the latest information on album and single releases. The first post will be edited to have the most up-to-date information for the near future, and replies will contain information and links if necessary. US release dates only (if someone wants to start a thread for their own country, they're welcome to do so). Genres will generally be restricted to what is being played on the station or covered on-site, though if something is suggested by someone else, I'll add it to the list.

    Just added:
Jennifer Lopez f/Pitbull - "Dance Again" (March 30)

As announced (and then shortly corrected via Twitter) last night on American Idol, Jennifer Lopez's new single will be released on April 30, followed by the video premiere on April 5. As was the case with "On The Floor," the single features rapper Pitbull.

I've added onto the list of Record Store Day releases; see the first post for those. Also, Adam Lambert's Trespassing is now scheduled for release on May 15.

A few notes on some of those RSD titles:
    • In case anyone was confused like I am, The Civil Wars's Live At Amoeba isn't the same thing as the Live At Sundance EP that Google Play gave out for free a few weeks ago.
    • Sara Bareilles's release includes tracks "Stay," from upcoming EP Once Upon Another Time, and "Beautiful Girl," which is an RSD exclusive.
    • Bruno Mars's The Grenade Sessions comes with a bonus poster.
    • Grace Potter & The Nocturnals's live release will be available either as an LP or a CD, supposedly with web content in addition.
    • The Thin White Duke remix of Katy Perry's "Part Of Me" is an RSD exclusive.
    • Kimbra's Settle Down EP includes an additional track, "Good Intent."
    • M83's "Mirror" is a previously unreleased track, originally intended to be an interlude between the two halves of their two-album release, Hurry Up, We're Dreaming.
    • The Michael Bublé/Ray Charles release is part of RSD's "Side By Side" series, which includes an original track and a cover of the same song.
    • Of Monsters And Men's Into The Woods EP includes bonus track "Sinking Man."
    • Both of the songs on Regina Spektor's release are previously unreleased and recorded in Russian, her native language.
    • Following the physical release of Switchfoot's Vice Re-Verses, it will receive a digital release on May 1.
    • The RSD release of The Black Keys's El Camino includes a bonus 45 with live recordings of "Sister" and "Moneymaker."
    • The B-side on the Walk The Moon release is a previously unreleased track entitled "Anyway I Can."
    • The Death Cab For Cutie remix EP is a limited-pressing, numbered 180-gram vinyl.
    • 311's Music and Esperanza Spalding's Radio Music Society are being released on vinyl for the first time as part of the "RSD First" series.

Added to the large list of releases on May 1 is the season one soundtrack from the cast of Smash. The soundtrack includes much of the music performed on the show, including "Touch Me," "Brighter Than The Sun," "Shake It Out," "Let Me Be Your Star," and "History Is Made At Night."

Karmin's Hello has apparently been pushed back to May 8.

The originally rumored date of Nelly Furtado's upcoming album was a week early. The Spirit Indestructible (previously listed as just T.S.I.) will be released on June 19. It's led off by "Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)," which will be digitally available beginning April 17.

I wonder if this is decent or not. Her last era was perfect.

Just added: Adam Lambert's second single from Trespassing, called "Never Close Our Eyes," will be available next Tuesday, April 17.
